You've Got To Have Friends...

Bette Midler was right.

So I recently spent time with my Honey and
two of my most loved guy friends. V and E....
V I've known since before the age of CD's.
And E was an old lover who had a huge
impact on my life....

The thing about good friends is you can
not see them for years...but when you do,
it's like no time has passed at all...

My best friend when I was 10 years old was
named Steven Powell. We were polar opposite
in many ways...I was dark, he was light...I was
smart, he was, how should I say...not the sharpest
tack in the tool box...I was good and stayed
out of trouble...he was a shoplifter...a very
good shoplifter....(he came home with a
skateboard that he got with his five-finger
discount...how he got it out of the store I'll
never know...then he offered to go back and
steal one for me...I protested but he wouldn't
take no for an answer...and lo and behold, 20
minutes later there he was with a brand new
skateboard for me)....Yes we were very different...
and yet we were as close
as brothers....I'm sure that if I met him today,
we'd pick up right where we left off....

me with the college degree...
him with the criminal record.

Who was your best childhood friend?

Well, I didnt have very many childhood friends, I used to stutter, but I still remember Rodney Carpenter, he had red hair and freckles... I still have a thing for red-headed men, but he moved away one day, sort of like a witness protection thing... just gone 1 day..
